Interlock Contractor — Toronto & GTA

Owner-Led Landscape Design & Build

The finished surface depends on everything beneath it.

Interlock and natural stone need more than an attractive pattern. Access, excavation, base preparation, compaction, grading, drainage, cuts, transitions, and edge restraint all affect long-term performance. XY Landscaping plans these details around the real property and intended use, whether the work is a focused entrance or part of a complete landscape renovation.

01

Use-specific preparation

A driveway, walkway, patio, and step system place different demands on preparation and support.

02

Grading and drainage

Surface direction, transitions, low areas, and existing drainage conditions are reviewed before installation.

03

Disciplined detailing

Alignment, borders, curves, cuts, steps, and edges are coordinated with the architecture and adjacent surfaces.

04

Written project scope

Materials, preparation, assumptions, inclusions, and applicable warranty terms are confirmed before work begins.

Typical Scope

Built around the real property and intended use.

Every project is reviewed individually. The final scope, materials, construction standard, pricing, and applicable warranty terms are confirmed in writing after site review and measurement.

How We Approach It

Clear decisions before construction begins.

  1. 01

    Understand the intended use

Vehicle loading, foot traffic, furniture, access, and the relationship to doors, curbs, lawn, and planting are reviewed.

  2. 02

    Review site conditions

Existing surfaces, grades, water movement, demolition, equipment access, and edge conditions inform the scope.

  3. 03

    Confirm materials and details

Paver or stone direction, layout, borders, transitions, and the agreed preparation standard are documented.

  4. 04

    Construct and inspect

The site is prepared and installed in sequence, followed by detail review and completion confirmation.

Common Questions

Useful answers before requesting a quote.

What affects interlock pricing?

Area alone is not enough. Access, removal, excavation, base work, drainage, material selection, patterns, borders, curves, cuts, steps, and edge conditions can all change the scope.

Can you quote from a photograph?

Photographs help with initial review, but final pricing requires site measurement and manual confirmation of the conditions that are not visible in a photo.

Which GTA areas do you serve?

We serve Toronto and surrounding GTA communities, with particular coverage across Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora, Newmarket, Stouffville, East Gwillimbury, Scarborough, and North York.

What should I mention if the existing paving is uneven or holds water?

Describe where the uneven area or standing water occurs, when you notice it, and whether it affects a doorway, steps, or a route through the yard. These observations help focus the site review; the cause and appropriate construction scope still need on-site assessment.

Can curves, steps, and adjoining paving be planned together?

Yes. The Curved Interlock Walkway & Steps project shows curved step transitions and contrasting borders connecting a walkway, patio, and garden edge. For your property, the layout needs to follow the actual levels, access, and adjoining surfaces.
